ALICK Macheso’s 20-year-old “love child” has come out in the open. Macheso’s first wife, Nyadzisai, is said to have kicked her husband’s secret love child, identified as Mussa, from their Chitungwiza home.
He had allegedly been “smuggled” into the family home from Gweru where he was said to have been staying with his mother.
He was introduced to Nyadzisai as a prospective band member for Orchestra Mberikwazvo. The Machesos were not available to comment on the claim for an assortment of reasons.
When H-Metro hooked up with Mussa, he was only too happy to spill the beans. He claims to have been born in 1991, a time when Macheso was merely a band member at Khiama Boys.
“My name is Mussa. I came to Harare last month (April) after my father Alick Macheso had agreed with my mother. “I was born in 1991 in Gweru and my mother is called Letween Mabvundu. She stays in Ascot and works as a lecturer at Mkoba Teacher’s College,” he said.
Mussa said that his father first introduced him to his “brother” Esau whom he bestowed with the responsibility of inducting him into the family affairs. “My father introduced me to Esau, the first day I joined the family and he was instructed to take care of me,” said Mussa.
Esau is Macheso’s KNOWN eldest son with his first wife Nyadzisai. However, Macheso did not introduce this Mussa to the rest of the family as his son but as a prospective band member. And the Macheso family welcomed him in that capacity.
“My dad did not introduce me as his son. Dad said he was going to introduce me to the family at a later date. “He claimed that he was going through a stressful period (of managing his affairs with emerging wives) and would introduce me after the dust had settled,” he said.
Unfortunately, the secret did not last long as Nyadzisai discovered that Mussa was her husband’s son — according to the claim. It appears as if it did not go down well with her as she IMMEDIATELY chucked him out of their Chitungwiza home.
Mussa said this happened last week on Tuesday morning. “I first smelt a rat on Monday night when Nyadzisai spent the better part of the night fuming. She was claiming that dad was wasting a lot of money on strangers he was taking under his wing. “It was today (Tuesday) that she came to me and told me to leave and return to my mother in Gweru.
“I requested to see dad before I left for Gweru but she refused saying that he was still asleep. “She said I had to leave the place as soon as possible. I asked her to help me with bus fare to Gweru but she refused saying that she was broke and had no money to give me,” he said.
He said Macheso came up with the suggestion that he join the family when he visited them after a show in the City of Progress. “Dad visited us after his show at the Swimming Pool ground near Sports Ground in Gweru. “That is when he suggested that I come to Harare. I then followed the next day,” he said.
However, Macheso and his wife were yesterday reported to have gone out when H-Metro visited them at their Chitungwiza home. Their mobile phones were not reachable. As such, Mussa’s claims would need to be handled with care.
