Bombed police station renovations at advanced stage

RENOVATIONS at the bombed section of the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Harare Central Station are at an advanced stage and are near completion amid reports that the bomb must have been planted by a bomb expert.

On August 2 a section of the Central Police Station in Harare belonging to the Criminal Investigations Department was destroyed by a bomb blast and two unexploded bombs were discovered on the scene.

No one was hurt in the explosion and police investigators and bomb disposal units concluded that it must have been an “inside job”.

Many officers were questioned over the bombing, but no arrests have yet been made.

Security was beefed up at the Central Police station and in surrounding areas. All visitors are now required to have an identity card and no cars are allowed to be parked at, and in the vicinity, of the station overnight as before.

Security has also been improved at all police stations and camps countrywide following the explosion.

According to reports from the capital Harare, new security measures are being implemented and modernization of the wing is currently taking place and will include, among other security devices, CCTV cameras and motion detectors.

The police station has over 200 holding cells and some interrogation rooms. The wing containing the cells was spared in the bomb blast, but security has been beefed up in all sections. Renovations are currently not taking place on other sections of the police station.

Senior Assistant Police Commissioner, Wayne Bvudzijena said police are doing their best to ensure to ensure that the security of those people held in cells and officers working inside the building is not compromised.

• Hypocrites, liars and deceivers all over will complain about how things are bad in Zimbabwe.
Yet these same racist and evil Europeans seek directly or indirectly to make things even harder for Africans by destroying Zimbabwean infrastructure.

Zim Patriots shall remain vigilant and WILL subjugate the racist and destructive demons.
