THE Minister of Transport and Communications, Chris Mushowe has appointed three new board of management Chairpersons for three key parastatals in a bid to ensure viability and enhanced reputation.
The three parastatals, which fall under the minister’s portfolio, are Tel-One, Net-One and Air Zimbabwe. They will have new chairpersons effective today
Economic analyst and prominent businessman, Jonathan Kadzura was appointed the new board Chairman at Air Zimbabwe. He is a former member of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s (RBZ) advisory board and board chairman of the Zimbabwe Mirror Group of Newspapers.
Kadzura has served as Vice Chairman at Air Zimbabwe for three years and now takes over from Mike Bimha who is now into full time politics.
Former Minister of Industry and Technology, Dr Kalistus Ndlovu retained the Chairmanship at Net-One while Lazarus Zana who has been deputizing Walter Chidhakwa who resigned from Tel-One board to concentrate on his political career, has been elevated to the post of chairman at the parastatal.
Mushowe challenged the new boards to drive turnaround programmes initiated by outgoing members, to ensure that services at the three parastatals measure up to the world cup scheduled for 2010 inSouth Africa.

Kana ndimiwo? What grounds does Mushowe call himself the minister anyway?
