WILLIE McKay, the football agent, has been charged by the FA with breaches of rules connected to the transfer of Benjani Mwaruwari to and from Portsmouth.
Under FA rules, agents are not allowed to act for two different clubs in two consecutive transfers involving the same player.
Clubs are permitted from using the same agent in such circumstances.
It is alleged that McKay acted on behalf of Auxerre in the transfer of Benjani from the French club to Portsmouth in January 2006 and then on behalf of Portsmouth in Benjani's move to ManchesterCity in January 2008, the next transfer involving the Zimbabwe forward.
Both parties have until August 29 to respond to the charges.
